Out with the old: In with the Idea of digital newspapers
Out with the old: in with the idea of digital newspapers
Gone are the days where we have to wait for the Sunday paper. Now we are able to get all of our information digitally through the internet. I believe this digital wave of media is completely taking over the “old school” way of journalism.
I believe this is the way it should be. We have progressed as a nation in so many ways throughout history. I believe we are progressing with technology for a reason; we need to fully embrace this technology and completely convert everything to digital. I think we need to do away with newspapers all together. I think everyone needs to have a digital computer where news reels are fed digitally from the news stations.
Some would say this is a bad idea. People say that doing away with print news would put a lot of people out of jobs. Although this could be, I think if everything was digital more jobs would be created. With technology there needs to be humans to make sure everything is working properly. With digital newspapers there would still need to be reporters, there would still need to be writers and there would still need to be editors. The only difference is you would eliminate the cost of printing the actual paper.
If newspapers were gone completely and everything was digital news would get out faster. Instead of people subscribing to the New York Times, people could just subscribe to a digital news feed. People could get news as it is happening. With all the other technology why would anyone want to wait to read a newspaper when they could just get something off the internet? If we had digital newspapers it could beep when news is happening. That way you wouldn’t even have to go to the internet to see if news was happening.

The BCM is a great place for NKU students to grow in their faith. It is a very big asset to NKU's campus and should not be moved
The BCM (Baptist Campus Ministries) is an organization that has been going on for years on college campuses across the
The BCM hosts a worship gathering every Tuesday night. It also hosts a free dinner and small group gathering on Thursday nights. The building is also open for students to hang out and play games such as ping pong and pool. The organization has been growing rapidly for the last several years, making a huge difference in lives of young Christians on the campus of Northern Kentucky University .
The BCM is funded by the KBC (Kentucky Baptist Convention). Other than it’s location it really is not affiliated with the actual University. In recent months NKU reps have discussed getting rid of the BCM. They argue that the building could be used for better things.
Would this be fair for NKU to do this? The BCM is a great place for students to get closer to God. The BCM offers many great things.
